If you're looking for authentic Ethiopian food then this is the spot. It helps to go with someone that knows how to order or is possibly Ethiopian but normal everyday people can figure the menu out for sure. Also they have helpful staff. The outside of the building is a little sketchy but sometimes those are some of the best places. The inside looks like a little village and had a cool vibe. The food was served in a unique way and the seating was nice and private. We would like to explore the menu more on a return visit. I would also mention that the pricing was very good for the amount of food that you get.
The food is outstanding. Overwhelmingly delicious. This is one of my favorite places to go. It's very authentic, I think. Unfortunately, the service is as well. This feels like a genuine ethnic cuisine in a culture with a slower pace of life and without American standards of customer service.
I will still come here gladly, and I highly recommend you do too. But note that things might take longer than you might expect.
This place was one of the coolest places I’ve ever been the owner is amazing!!!! Me and my group came down Atlanta for spring break and this has been the highlight of our trip! The coffee is amazing and they both toast and grid the beans in house, if you love good coffee and amazing hospitality please try it out!!!!! They even let us dress up in traditional Ethiopian dresses!!!!
***Don't get diarrhea when you eat here. That's what I got here.
As Ethiopian, this restaurant is the most disgusting, dirty, stinky, and I am very ashamed of it. We've told the owner to fix the problem, but it is getting worse. They even increased the price of those unhealthy and disgusting foods, which is not even worth a few bucks.
I suggest don't go to the restroom because you even get dirtier and contaminated. I don't know why the county health department let them open this restaurant.
Please please please try this place if your in Atlanta there so amazing there and the food is so good!!! Both me and my friends a big eaters and we quite literally couldn’t finish all the food given! The owner is amazing and seemed to really care that we had a good time!!!! Best place in Atlanta to eat by far and the people who work here put so much effort into the food made never have I ever had food so good!!! Also so many murals and art pieces Inside so if art is your thing I would go just to check out the walls !!!
I’ve lent my patronage to Piassa many times.. The food, the decor, and service are always top notch. Recently, there has been an uptick in Ethiopian political drama and Piassa has unfairly suffered because of this. The negative reviews posted on their business listings are not from actual customers. Those reviews have been left by people within the Ethiopian community who have nothing better to do but lounge around and deliberately attempt to sabotage and alienate innocent, hardworking people who don’t conform to their politically deranged views.
Leave politics where they belong and leave these hardworking people alone.
This establishment remains a great place to have delicious and authentic Ethiopian food with an atmosphere that takes you back to the country without leaving Atlanta. Highly recommend it!
Nice restaurant. I enjoy Ethiopian food (veggie combo), but the flavor profile of this restaurant isn’t for me.
Hey people !
Please don’t ever order ጠላ ( Tella) from this restaurant ever again ! Cause they burn the barley so much when they roast it , that they make the taste of ጠላ
undrinkable. This has probably been my second or third time to order ጠላ from this restaurant, each time they have gotten worse and worst. The saddest part of my experience, that I had asked the waitress when I called to order whether or not the ጠላ is ኮምጣጣ ( sour ) or fresh and tasty. She lied it to me big time and I felt cheated! So, this restaurant is falling downward spiral and they should close it down from engaging in this type of business.
